Full moon tonight!!! WOO HOO!!! After last night's fast 8 mile perimeter run, I wasn't sure how I'd feel today to run the perimeter again but I really wanted to. Full moons here are always bright because there aren't ever any clouds, no rain, no anything. So as the day progressed, I ate to run...or to say that I only ate things that wouldn't dare disrupt my goal to run. I knew it was going to be a long one today at work so it would be a late start if in fact I ran.
The day moved along swiftly. Just as expected, my counterparts back in the States took good care of me and left me plenty of work. Working through that and a late conference call kept me in the office until 7pm...making it a 12hr day. I definitely am starting to see my role here in a better light. That's good, too...heck, today is my 35th day on the ground in WDW so getting a clue is a good thing! I am starting to brainstorm about how to help the northern part of the country which is in a state of growth. My commander has basically given me the blessing to brainstorm and move forward. I have a beginning vision and can see myself bringing together the major players for a one-day conference that I'll organize, mostly up at "Theme Park #1" and take a few experts from my neck of the woods to mentor those up north who desperately need it. I really think I can be the catalyst for some major change and movement forward. We shall see. By the time I got back to my room, it was past 7:30pm and sunset was lurking.
At work today, though, I had a great mail call! Two packages showed up today...one from my brother and the other from RunnerGirl. My brother heard about my popcorn craving and oh my! He sent popcorn...LOTS of it. Also inside was a lot of artwork from two of my nieces, Tin Man, Scarecrow, and even Dorothy! :-) Those items are all going up on my wall with the other ones. I love that stuff! RunnerGirl took good care of me, too. Kashi cereal, Bear Naked granola cereal, Special K with Red Berries (which just happens to be my FAVORITE cereal offered here in the small containers in Oz...how did she know? did I mention that on here? I don't know), and of course some Starbucks VIA. RunnerGirl and I had just started running in the 4am hour before I was deployed. Since then, she's gotten super speedy but we've got a deal to get back to our early morning runs when I return...we just MUST slow down!
I headed out again for the perimeter run and at first, the moon had a sandy look to it...most likely because of the dust in the air. As the run progressed around the base, it became whiter and whiter as it rose higher in the sky. Simply brilliant tonight! I ended up with 9 miles today and felt pretty good. I enjoyed that Bear Naked granola cereal and a cup of chicken-n-rice soup for post run chow. Another day down and a day grossly low in calories. Breakfast was only a bowl of cereal and a late morning Clif Bar. Lunch was pinto beans over rice, a bowl of soup, and some broccoli, and you know what I had for dinner. Not much snacking today, either...just some organic trail mix. Eight or nine 500ml bottles of water, too.
OK...here's the deal. I haven't said anything the past few days because I didn't want to jinx myself. But, it DOES feel like time is starting to move a bit faster. The days do seem to move along more swiftly and the dates on the calendar are a total blur. Now, if it will just keep on cruising, I can get home quicker. Well, not really...but you know what I mean. Well, a shower is calling and bed immediately thereafter.
Goodnight, everyone.
