I made the mistake of getting up at 3:30am today. Back home in Kansas, that's actually the normal wake-up time, then run at 4:30am. Today, I was running at 4am...the perimeter yet again around the base. The air was totally different at this hour, the moon was out, I watched the sunrise over the Hindu Kush mountains and the temperature was 72F vice 94F. Without the intense sun, the sweat didn't vaporize immediately and by the time the loop was done, I was soaked. Still, I got it done. I did stop at the office on the way around to give my parents a phone call to wish them Happy 40th Anniversary. I wasn't able to call yesterday so I gave it a shot and luckily, I got them. It was still early evening Sunday night so it worked well. I tried Dorothy but with no luck.
The day in the office couldn't have been slower. Like every Monday here, it's like a Sunday because I don't have meetings and the east coast folks still haven't come to work. That being said...not much else to say about the day. I did play a few matches of Scrabble on my iPad and beat the computer twice. Woot!
Back in my room, I spent a good deal of time exchanging e-mails and messages with family/friends back home and started a download of some more classics...this time the orchestral power of Moussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition, Night on Bare Mountain. Dragging from the early rise this morning, it's 8pm and I'm going to bed. I just can't find any justifiable reason to stay awake one more moment.
Goodnight, everyone.
