Day 190

Wowsers...Day 1 of a new week and Day One Hundred and Ninety. That's a long time! Today was a pretty good day, I will admit. I set the alarm for 3:45am but woke up at 4:15am so I missed the National Anthem but did catch the Green Flag at the NASCAR race in Charlotte, NC. From there to the finish of that race, I was asleep and awake many times over. It was a great race and I was glad to see it LIVE. Afterwards, I decided it was time for my final haircut so I headed back to the one place I'd never had a bad haircut. The last one was not good and that woman left a lump on my head!!! Of hair!!! Bad attitude, to boot. So, I went on back to the tried and true location and she did a really good job. At the end, she asked if I wanted a shampoo and at first, I declined but then thought "Heck, it's my last haircut and I deserve a bit of pampering!" so I accepted the offer. Head back, eyes shut, and hot water and shampoo...nice. I broke the bank at 11 bucks, too.

Afterwards, I was off to the office via the crammed shuttle bus, filled mostly with Polish soldiers. All I could think of was my cousin who loves polka and still dances. Once to the office, I quickly got the work done that needed done and took an extended lunch where I walked out to an area where I could get a few good photos of the snow-covered mountains since the sky was clear and sun was super-bright. Here's one of the pics I took.
I had a few more things to do in the office and considering it was Sunday, I took off at the first opportunity to get back to my room. Back in my room, I had just finished packing one final box to mail home with items I really don't want to carry home so I headed on over to mail those then picked up a footlong sub at Subway! Yep, they have one here but I'd never walked in there. It just sounded good to me today so I thought it was time to give a little American food a whirl. One 6" part down so far and pretty good! Once back, I called all 3 of my girls...Tin Man and Scarecrow and then Dorothy. Always great. Then...more packing! Yea, I'm pretty much to the point now where I can't pack anymore until it's time to leave. I haven't taken all of the kids' artwork off the wall yet, though. I look at those everyday so I think they'll have to stay until the last minute.

So all in all, a pretty good day and almost entirely to myself. The end is in sight, I've passed Mile 92 of 100, and my relief has left the United States en route to HERE. It's all good! Good times ahead...good times ahead.

Goodnight, everyone.
