Day 151

Busy, busy day...yep, we're back at it. Wednesdays are always busy with multiple meetings and conference calls. It was a pretty uneventful one that started out with seeing Dorothy to bed via Skype then heading on in for the day. Our Marine colonel flew in today, too, which always stirs the pot in the office...in a good way. He's an ultra-runner so of course, I'm good with him showing up. Ironically, though, we've never run together. Good thing I got baked goods this week, though...that man can seriously pound down some homemade cookies.  Oh yea...I forgot to mention, I recorded the 9/11 interview yesterday. For those of you who know me, you know where to hear it...I assume it'll play at 6am and 8am tomorrow morning (Thursday) and hopefully be archived around noon EST. If you don't know, I'll give you a clue then you'll have to figure it out. Google "Moody Radio Cleveland" and you'll find the station. You have the ability to stream their channel live so if you want to hear it, there you go. It was a pretty good interview...I think. I talked about where I was on 9/11, why our country entered in Afghanistan, the mission then, the mission now, and what's going on today in Afghanistan...vs. what you read in the news. I think you'll enjoy it.

Soon after my final conference call Stateside, I beat feet out of the office and grabbed the shuttle over to my side of the base and had dinner...homemade pizza again. (note to self: you'd better run more often or Dorothy isn't going to be very happy!) Once I got back in the room, Will Smith's "The Pursuit of Happyness" was on which reminded me of this favorite scene from the movie.  Absolutely so true and did you notice the flag flying in this scene...no accident, I bet!

Pretty good, isn't it? Well, it's time to hit the sack...gotta get back up in a few hours to get a Navy Senior Chief who is flying in. This time, I get to say it instead of hearing it: "Welcome to Afghanistan!" Haha, right? Yea...I remember those words....very well! So long, Day 151...your services are no longer needed.

Goodnight, everyone.
