I woke up. I brewed my Italian espresso with the pot Dorothy sent me. I had a bowl of cereal and 2 hard-boiled eggs. I went to the office. I ate some Twizzlers. I made up another chilled bottle of Starbucks Iced Via. I spent a few hours catching up on e-mails. I crammed down a less-than-enjoyable lunch. I chatted online with a good friend who is also serving in another part of the world. I went to a meeting. I received a few care packages. (THANK YOU!!!!) I headed back to my room around 5pm. Sorry, but that was my day and I'm not happy!
OK, so I am way more in the dumps today than I was yesterday but I will shine the light on one very bright spot. I got to talk to both Tin Man and Scarecrow before they got on the bus this morning. I was chatting with them online and told them I'd call as soon as they were ready to board the bus. They got ready in record time! So, I got some "alone time" with them both and it was GREAT. Scarecrow has really been in the dumps lately so I hoped she would be happy this time. The first thing was to tell her to go somewhere where Tin Man would leave her alone so we could talk. It was priceless time. The second time I smiled was when good friend who is also serving in a different part of the world posted something really funny online and it made me laugh out loud. I told her that if she keeps that up, SHE is going to be due a hug when I get home! Smiles are important over here! They are not easy to come by!
So there you have it...the shortest post in 52 days. I'm so glad May is over now. Now to crank out 30 days in June. One request: please go faster than May.
