Got gas? I sure did this morning. The day kicked off with a gas mask fitting along with a plastic canopy over me where gas was pushed in and around me for several minutes. I had to move my head side to side, up and down, and imitated chewing gum...all intended to ensure a good, air-tight fit. About 5-10 minutes of this and the test was complete. As Dorothy said, "You look like The Fly!" We also were fit for a jacket, trousers and gloves in the event of a chemical/biological attack over in Oz. That gear will be issued to us at the next training stop along the Yellow Brick Road. A short time later, we all met up with the folks who handle our pay, etc. and verified all was correct and asked any questions we had.
Other than that, it was a very quiet day. Oh yea, I did visit the audiogram booth again and it seems that yesterday's results were skewed and after today's test, my hearing is just fine. So much for my hearing going bad as I get old.
Some shopping, dinner, and praying with Tin Man and Scarecrow over FaceTime rounded out my day. I did watch several episodes of "V" from the 80s. Dang, I loved that show.
I think we'll leave it at that today. Uniform issue is tomorrow along with my smallpox vaccine. Oh boy, that should be fun. I plan to have my camera ready and will try to provide proof of the fork-like needle and the 15 needle pricks, laying down a live virus on my skin.
Goodnight, family and friends.
